Mathematics Lecture Series
Manipur Science and Technology Council, Imphal organised a Mathematics Lecture Series on Importance of Mathematics in Day-to-Day Life as a continuing programme of Celebration of National Mathematics Day 2024 at 4 (four) different schools in Manipur in the month of April 2025.

Observation of World Intellectual Property Day 2025
World Intellectual Property Day 2025 was observed on April 26, 2025 at Waikhom Mani Girls’ College, Thoubal on the theme “IP and Music: Feel the Beat”. The programme was jointly organized by Patent Information Centre (PIC), Manipur Science & Technology Council, Imphal and IPR Cell, Waikhom Mani Girl’s College. Smt. Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, Secretary (S&T), Government of Manipur and Member Secretary, MASTEC, Dr. H. Manoranjan Singh, Principal Waikhom Mani Girl’s College, Dr. Kh. Rakesh, Director, MASTEC were present as dias member of the programme. A talk on An Overview by IPR Shri L. Surjit Singh, PIC staff and Quiz programme on IPR were the main activities of the programme.

Celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2025
World Intellectual Property Day 2025 was celebrated on May 2, 2025 at New Academic Block, Manipur Technical University (MTU), Takyelpat, Imphal on the theme “IP and Music: Feel the Beat”. The programme was jointly organized by Patent Information Centre (PIC), Manipur Science & Technology Council, Imphal and IPR Cell-MTU. The programme was attended by Smt. Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, Secretary (S&T), Government of Manipur and Member Secretary, MASTEC, Dr. Kh. Rakesh, Director, MASTEC and Shri Ramananda Nongmeikapam, MCS, Registrar, MTU. The main activities of the programme were talks on “Intellectual Property Rights” by Shri L. Surjit Singh, PIC-MASTEC and “Protecting Manipur’s Heritage-GI” by Kosygin L, Nodal-Officer, IPR Cell-MTU and interaction session. Partial financial assistance under MASTEC’s scheme “Innovative R&D Projects for Engineering Students” were also distributed to the selected students by the Member Secretary, MASTEC.
State Level Aquarium Exhibition-cum-Flower Show
The 10th State Level Aquarium Exhibition-cum-Flower Show was organised during May 29 – June 09, 2025 at Manipur Science Aquarium, D M University Campus, Imphal. The programme was inaugurated on May 29, 2025 by Smt. Chingakham Shachi, Joint Secretary (S&T), Govt. of Manipur in the presence of Smt. Homila Hongrei, Dirctor (S&T), Govt. of Manipur and Dr. Kh. Rakesh, Director, MASTEC.
Main activities of the programme were -
- Exhibition of local and exotic fishes and plants
(25 local/indigenous & 40 exotic fish species and 100 flower/plant varieties both from the local and exotic)
- Exhibition of locally available indigenous plants and Bonsai
(50 locally available indigenous plants and 30 bonsai of different designs)
- A 3-day Skill Development Training on Fabrication and Management of Aquarium Tanks
(As a part of the Exhibition, this programme is being organised during June 07-09, 2025. Altogether 39 participants – students, faculty members of colleges and interested individuals were attended. The programme covers – ornamental fish keeping as an entrepreneurship, fabrication of aquarium, management of water, plants, fishes etc. and intellectual property rights.)
- Aquascaping Competition (15 aquascappers were participated in this competition.)

Science Motivational Programme for Talented School Students
A 3-day Science Motivational Programme for Talented School Students was organized during June 19-21, 2025 at MASTEC Complex, Takyelpat, Imphal. The programme was Inaugurated by Smt. Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, Secretary (Science & Technology), Govt. of Manipur as Chief Guest. Dr. Kh. Rakesh, Director, Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal and Prof. S. Dorendrajit Singh, Former Professor, Physics Dept., Manipur University were the President and Guest of Honour of the Inaugural Function. Altogether 30 students from 15 (fifteen) different schools across the state participated in the programme. The main objectives of the were to create awareness about the importance of science and generate curiosity among the students; to motivate the students to choose science as career and to make students aware of different fields of science in order to enable them to choose his/her right field.
Main activities of the 3 day programme were;
- Lecture-cum-Hands on Activities on Basic Sciences and Grafting of Fruit and Flower plants
- Invited lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
- Visit to 5 R&D and Scientific Institutions - (i) Institute of Bioresources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), Takyelpat, Imphal (ii) Manipur Technical University (MTU), Takyelpat, Imphal (iii) CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology (NEIST), Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat, Imphal (iv) Shija Academy of Health Sciences, Langol, Imphal and (v) Central Agricultural University, Iroisemba, Imphal. During the said visits, Scientists highlighted the activities being carried out in their respective Institutions and interacted with the students, Further, the participants were taken to the research Laboratories of the Institutions and Research/Extension farms.

Bhubon Singh, Dept. of Chemistry, Manipur University (Chemistry Scientist/Expert) (iv) Dr. O. Joychandra Singh, Former Senior Faculty, Shija Academy of Health Sciences, Langol (Medical Scientist/Expert) (v) Shri N. Bobo Singh, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat, Imphal (IT Scientist/Expert) and (vi) Shri L. Dormani Singh, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat, Imphal (Engineering Scientist/Expert).
Residential Skill Development Training Programme on Food Processing
Residential Skill Development Training Programme on Food Processing for the educated unemployed women of the state were organised at Common Facility-cum-Demonstration Centre for Food Processing, Manipur Science and Technology Council Complex, Takyelpat, Imphal during June 24 to 30, 2025. The programme aimed at providing hands-on training to the women trainees and promote entrepreneurship, encourages good manufacturing practices, and emphasizes hygienic methods of food production. A total of 37 educated unemployed women from across the state were participated. The trainees prepared 45 different food items - including pickles, squash, ready-to-serve (RTS) drinks, jams and jellies, candies, chips, soy milk, tofu, bakery products and many more. Three invited talks on FSSAI registration, Intellectual Property Rights and Financial Literacy were also organised during the training. The programme was concluded on May 30, 2025 by Smt. Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, Secretary (S&T), Government of Manipur and Member Secretary, MASTEC.
Popularisation-cum-Demonstration of Technologies in Technology Demonstration Centre, MASTEC, Takyelpat
A 2-day Popularisation-cum-Demonstration of Technologies in Technology Demonstration Centre, MASTEC, Takyelpat was organized for the farmers during June 25-26, 2025. The programme was Inaugurated by Smt Kengoo Zuringkla, IAS, Secretary (Science & Technology), Govt. of Manipur as Chief Guest. Smt. Homila Hongrei, Director (Science & Technology) Govt. of Manipur and Dr. Kh. Rakesh, Director, Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal were the Guest of Honour and President respectively of the Inaugural Function. Altogether 32 farmers & Entrepreneurs from all over the state participated the programme. During the 2-day programme the functioning/operation of the technologies in the Centre as well as their applications in farming were explained and demonstrated to the participants followed by hands on activities and interaction. A lecture-cum-interaction on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was also organised during the programme.
