The Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) will celebrate National Science Day 2026 on 28 February 2026 at the MASTEC Complex, Takyelpat, Imphal. The event aims to inspire young minds and promote scientific thinking among school students across Manipur.

National Science Day is observed every year to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Prof. C. V. Raman, highlighting the importance of science and innovation in national development. In keeping with this spirit, MASTEC has planned engaging activities that blend creativity with scientific awareness.

Spot Painting Competition for School Students

A major highlight of the celebration will be a Spot Painting Competition designed to encourage students to express scientific ideas through art. The competition will be conducted in the following categories.

  • Sub-Junior Category: Class III to V
  • Junior Category: Class VI to VIII

This competition provides students with an opportunity to visually interpret scientific themes while nurturing curiosity, imagination, and awareness from an early age.

Invited Lecture on the Life and Work of Prof. C. V. Raman

As part of the programme, an invited lecture on the life and scientific contributions of Prof. C. V. Raman will be delivered. The lecture is intended to introduce students and attendees to his scientific legacy and to emphasize the relevance of science in everyday life.
